15 reviews in 30 days

Rob increased his reviews by almost 200% in one month!

In this economy customer reviews are being relied on more and more. Reviews by customers tell other potential customers what they think of your business, and therefore can have a direct influence on the amount of business you both retain and generate. This is no different for florists.

Rob from Wishing Well Florist was on a quest to gain more reviews for his flower shop. He asked us what he could do to get more reviews and we gladly jumped on board to help him.

As a result his flower shop received 15 reviews in 1 month! Rob's business has had several new customers who were looking for the best local florist. They were led to The Wishing Well based on those reviews.

We asked Rob if he would share his experience so it can benefit others. He agreed.

The following is Rob's own wording about his experience.

"Reviews are important.

In today's world, reviews can make you or break you. With the evolution of this type of technology, people are more and more keen on seeing reviews. If I lack reviews, I may as well have bad reviews, particularly if a competitor has more than I do. Even if my competitor only has 5 he stands a far greater chance of winning a customer over me if I have zero.

Google owns the search market. I don't care what any other provider says, Google owns the majority of the search traffic, and they are very good at it. Their organic results and algorithms, particularly in populating local results for local businesses are outstanding. I decided I would try to look for reviews from our existing customers so my only real interest was trying to find them via Google.

First, if you don't have a Google local business account, get one. It's 100% free and this is the only real way you can gain reviews. Second, populate it until is full of content. Stay up on the content if you expect your site to be indexed in the local listings. Add photos, add text, and make sure everything is accurate. Even changing the profile photo and the cover photo monthly helps.

Next, ask people for reviews. Ask everyone you know for reviews. I found that customers would often get confused on where exactly to put the reviews. Where to write them. There were a number of people writing on our G+ timeline, but those do not show up in the local results. I needed the reviews to show up on reviews.

After a few months of frustration Media99 gave me, what I consider, a brilliant idea...

...Suddenly reviews started pouring in. In 1 month we went from 8 reviews to 23 and are gaining them all the time. Better still, as I suspected could happen, we had 3 orders come in from out of town customers looking for a great local option for florists. They all commented that what drove them to our shop were the positive reviews."
